PARENT & CARER WORKSHOP
In a quickly changing landscape, parents and families who can help their children navigate technology, devices and social media effectively are setting their family up for success.
With a focus on collaboration, this workshop challenges parents/carers to consider their own device use, ensuring that they are exemplifying digital habits that can be modelled in their young people. Parents/carers will leave this workshop with tangible strategies that help them establish healthier digital habits in the home.
PARTICIPANTS WILL:

Be provided evidence-based research that highlights the impact devices and social media are having on young people’s wellbeing

Develop confidence to better assist their child in safely navigating the digital world

Learn strategies for how to effectively open up the dialogue around device usage in the home

Implement healthy digital boundaries within the home that consider the needs and wellbeing of the whole family unit

Optional: This session can also be run as a student-parent evening. In this workshop, students will work with their parents/carers to reflect on their device use collaboratively and create long-lasting digital habits together.
